Metro Wastewater Reclamation District Elects New Officers/Weitz Co. Expands Rocky Mountain Business Unit/JVA Names New Associates

Anthony Ferraro, who represents the city of Aurora, was elected in July to serve a two-year-term as chairman of the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District's board of directors.

The Metro Wastewater Reclamation District board of directors elected Anthony Ferraro to serve as its chairman for the next two years.

Also elected to leadership roles were Kathryn Jensen , chair pro tem; Ronald Younger, secretary; and Curtis Aldstadt, treasurer.

Ferraro, who represents the city of Aurora, is a retired appraiser and accountant. He has served on the Metro District's board since 1992, most recently as chairman pro tem. Jensen, who represents the North Table Mountain Water and Sanitation District, is a retired teacher and business owner.

Younger, who represents the city and county of Denver, is the Agency Human Resources Administrator for the city. Aldstadt, who represents the city of Westminster, is a farmer, the manager of utilities for the Pillar of Fire/Belleview School Farm and superintendent and director for the Allen Ditch Co. He was appointed to the Metro District's board in 1999.


  Derek Johns , PE, has become a shareholder in Muller Engineering Co . and joined the firm's board of directors.

Johns, who has 14 years of experience in water resources planning, design and construction, serves as a project manager. His projects have included the award-winning Marcy Gulch Channel Stabilization project sponsored by the Highlands Ranch Metro District and the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District.


Englewood-based Lantz-Boggio Architects PC has announced three additions to the firm. They are Bill Speck, AIA, project manager; Paul Bormann , RA, director of design; and Bill Abney, RA, project manager.


  ABC Supply's Keith Rozolis has been promoted to senior vice president of strategic marketing and planning.

Rozolis joined ABC Supply in 1999 as vice president of strategic marketing and planning. Before that, he was with Bridgestone/Firestone's retail operations.


  Juanita Chacon has been appointed by Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper to fill the Regional Transportation District Board of Director's District C position, recently vacated by Lori Fox.

Currently a Realtor, Chacon has worked in the real estate industry for more than 20 years. She also co-founded the Latina Chamber of Commerce and has served on numerous community boards and community service organizations.


  Martin/Martin Inc. Consulting Engineers has announced several additions to its Lakewood-based staff. They are Stephen Caskey , assistant facility manager; Rob Frankenberger , Engineer I; Ian Bull , survey crew chief; Donna Phipps, structural administrative assistant; Nick Johnson, CAD Operator I; Jeffrey Carlson , Engineer I; Benjamin Downey , Engineer I; and Nicholas Ereckson , Engineer II.


  Taylor Kohrs has added three more construction professionals to its team. They are John Rehmer , who joins the company as a senior project manager working on the Country Club Village project in Westminster; Earl Goddard , a superintendent working on the Crown Point Professional Offices in Parker; and Andy Pazik , a project engineer, also working on Country Club Village in Westminster, as well as Best Buy in Loveland.


  David Scott, who has more than 20 years of experience in materials testing, construction observation and laboratory management, has been named manager of Kumar & Associates Inc.'s newly opened office in Winter Park/Fraser, established to better serve the firm's Western Slope clients.


  Scott Menefee , senior director for real estate development for Opus Northwest LLC, ;has been named senior director for The Pinnacle at City Park South. He will oversee the development and construction of the luxury high-rise towers and park homes adjacent to City Park.


  Alcoa Home Exteriors Inc . employee Tom Kartheiser , a corporate trainer from Denver, participated this summer in a Habitat for Humanity International project in Michigan.

Kartheiser, along with other Alcoa employees from across the country, took part in the 2005 Jimmy Carter Work Project, held June 19-24. He provided training and installation assistance for the project, which built more than 50 homes.


Interior designer Jamie Mueller , IIDA, has returned to Boulder Associates , the firm she originally joined Boulder Associates in 1999 before leaving to pursue an independent practice.

Mueller also received certification in June from the National Council for Interior Design Qualification; she is scheduled to take the LEED Professional accreditation exam later this year.


  Joel Hardy and Garry Walker have joined Drahota Inc. 

Hardy, who has accepted a position as an estimator, has 15 years of experience in the construction industry. Walker, hired as a project manager, has 20 years of construction experience. He will work as the onsite project manager at the Highmark - previously the Chadwick - in Steamboat Springs.


  RNL Design has added seven professionals to the firm. They are Bruce Burch, George Feathers and Adam Fitzgerald, senior project managers; Danny Darr, project architect; Julie Evans, landscape architect; and Erin Sinkc and Tom Wiener, architectural interns. 


  The Weitz Co. recently added 11 new team members to its Rocky Mountain Business Unit. They are Jesse Peña, senior project manager; Michael Lewis, superintendent; Michelle Bevans, Laura Spencer, Jaime Loeb, Matt Schaeffer, Brent Newman, Seth Roecker, Tristan Burm and Thomas Hardy, project engineers; and Tom Harper, estimator. 


  Christopher Poelma has been named CEO of Dutch Communications Inc., a Westrian Group subsidiary founded in 2003 as Wired By Dzyne that provides services in audio/video environments, home automation and professional audio/video installation catering to high-end home and commercial markets.


  Steven Bearden has been appointed regional controller of Adolfson & Peterson Construction's Colorado office,where he will provide overall directional guidance for the office and be responsible for expanding an extensive business network, further developing employee teamwork and increasing operational and cost efficiencies.

  Suvi Caton, the company's director of marketing, has been designated as a Certified Professional Services Marketer by the Society for Marketing Professional Services. 


  Kent Worley has been appointed vice president of finance for KB Home's Colorado division. Worley will manage the accounting and financial functions of the division, lead the business planning process and be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives.


  Cameron Abernathy has joined Secure Consulting Engineers as a staff engineer. Abernathy will provide foundation and structural engineering services for new residential, industrial and commercial construction projects. He will also help with diagnostics and foundation repair engineering.


  JVA Inc. has named key members of its staff as associates. Mark Cormier,  Chuck Wilkerson and Mike Hope have been named senior associates while Dan Cooke and Charlie Hager have been appointed to associate positions.


  Scott Sounart of Kleinfelder Inc. recently passed the professional engineers exam.

Sounart, who has been with the firm for more than four months, is a project manager and runs the Denver-area office laboratory. He has 14 years of experience in asphalt and pavement testing, design and research asphalt laboratory practice and inspections.


  Brian Hogan has been promoted to manager of Nunn Construction Inc.'s special project division.


  Ken Lowrey was recently promoted to water and wastewater section manager at HDR, where he will be responsible for the day-to-day management of 18 engineering professionals, as well as quality control of all projects and overall strategic direction for the group.


  Joe Sullivan recently joined ACCURATE EngiSurv LLC, where he will head up the firm's construction surveying department.

Sullivan is a professional land surveyor who has more than 24 years of experience - the majority of which was spent working with construction companies.


  Evan Miller, AIA, was recently certified as a LEED-accredited professional by the U.S. Green Building Council. 

Miller, who has a bachelor's degree in environmental design from the University of Colorado, is an associate at The Abo Group.


  Alison Larsen-Rogers has been promoted to president/treasurer at Phase 2 Co. while Kirk Larsen has been named vice president/secretary.


  Charles McKnight, PE, has been named president of Sellar & Griggs Inc. while former president Thomas Roberts , PE, will remain as CEO and serve as vice president of special projects.


  Mark Lillemon, CSP, has joinedVan Gilder Insurance Corp.'s loss control and risk management team.

Before joining Van Gilder, he was vice president of risk management services for an independent insurance broker.


  Bob Yelinski has been appointed vice president of Denver operations for Sprehe Interior Construction Inc. 

Yelinski, formerly field operations manager, will oversee and manage the daily sales and operations of the Denver division.


  John Angster has been appointed vice president of human resources for Komatsu America Corp. 

Before joining the company, Angster was vice president of human resources at Midas International, one of the world's largest providers of automotive services.
