Westminster's Grafton Named 'Woman of Influence'


Commercial Real Estate Women of Denver

Susan Grafton, economic development manager for the city of Westminster, was named CREW Denver's 2005 'Woman of Influence' at the organization's annual awards luncheon in September.

Commercial Real Estate Women of Denver presented its 2005 Woman of Influence Award to Westminster Economic Development Manager Susan Grafton in September. She was honored for her work in diversifying the city's tax base, capturing some of the growing north I-25 market for retail development.


Senior  electrical engineer Garrett Nariman, PE, joined The RMH Group in Denver. Nariman, who has 15 years of experience, is a registered communications distribution designer and a LEED-accredited professional.


Jeremiah Wendell,who has more than five years of experience in the architecture and engineering industry, joined the Frisco office of Monroe & Newell Engineers Inc. as a structural engineer.


Drexel, Barrell & Co.has added four new staff members to its Boulder office - Jonathan Stewart, EIT, design engineer in the transportation engineering department; James Dalton and Erik Pauley , crew chiefs in the survey department; and Michael Ecker , instrument operator, also in the survey department.


Christopher Carvell Architects PCin Denver has hired three new employees - David Solomon, AIA, associate and project manager; Sally Perisho, director of development; and Justin Fries, architectural intern.


Rudy Jaramillojoined CLC Associates in Denver. Jaramillo, who has 13 years of experience in architecture, will serve as a project coordinator and lead project architect for many of the firm's commissions. Current projects include the Colfax Retail Center located in Lakewood.


Boulder Associates Inc.announced three promotions in the fall - Timothy Riddle, AIA, was named senior associate; Erica Meylan , CPSM, was named associate; and Matthew Krall was named marketing coordinator.

Also, Dan Schneider,AIA; and Jeff Beardsley earned their LEED accreditations, and five more people joined the firm - Greg Mueller, Juan Ramos and Brian Champa , architectural staff; Gina Livingston Smith, interiors group; and Amanda Breeding, administration.


Jim Knutson was named national director of Energy Savings Performance Contracting at URS Corp. in Denver. Knutson serves on the steering committee of the Denver Regional Office of Combined Heat and Power.

Also, a URS vice president,Joel Johnson , PE, was named sales and marketing manager for the firm's Denver office. In this role, he will be responsible for the growth of the office in 13 different market sectors.


Drake General Contractors Inc.in Colorado Springs added two new staff members to its local office - Larry Beranek, chief estimator; and Tim Toussaint, project manager.


Monroe & Newell Engineers Inc. promoted the following staff members to associate principal: Jeff Felderman, PE; Colleen Hazel Arni , PE; Kristen Fox , PE; Mark Gee , PE; and Kate Fratzke .


Michael Harms, who has 20 years of experience in the construction industry, joined GE Johnson Construction Co. as vice president of project development, while George Harris joined the company as director of human resources.


Jill Schlaefer joined Carter & Burgess as senior planner in the Denver transportation office.

Schlaefer, who served as an environmental planner with the Colorado Department of Transportation before joining the firm, has 27 years of experience in geologic evaluations and project management, with five years concentrating on noise and NEPA project management.


OZ Architecture added five people to its staff - Cynthia Harvey and Wells Squier II , architects; Kathryn Janak , interior designer; and William Hentschel and Jorge Rodriguez , architectural interns.


Gary Diewald was named manager of environmental engineering services for the Fort Collins office of CTL/Thompson . In addition to his position as project engineer, he will oversee the firm's expanded environmental engineering services at the branch, where he has worked for three years.


Semple Brown Design PC recruited four professionals to join its staff of designers. They are Thomas Gallagher , Leila Connard , Benjamin Griswold and Matthew Diersen. 


.Schmueser Gordon Meyer added several new people to its Glenwood Springs staff. They are Richard Goulding , PE, design engineer for the resort development team; Lee Barger , an engineer with the transportation team; and Matt Webster , design engineer for the Aspen/Pitkin County team.

Also, Erin Radosevich , a member of SGM's structural team, earned her Colorado professional engineer's license.


Barry Grant was named president of KB Home's Mountain Division , where he will oversee the home builder's operations in Colorado and New Mexico. Grant had been president of the Colorado division since February 2004.


Three new staff members joined JG Johnson Architects in Denver -  Bill Foster and Pam Campbell , intern architects; and Rosemary Brown , administrative assistant.


Kris Francois , PE, joined Studio NYL in Boulder as a senior structural engineer. Before joining the firm, Francois, a LEED-accredited professional, worked in Cambridge, Mass., at Richmond So Engineers, Arup and LeMessurier Consultants .
 Sharon Heskett , CAD drafter, also became a full-time member of the firm's staff. A part-time employee since February, she has 15 years of drafting experience.


Shea Homes  named Eric Snider , PhD, to the newly created position of national vice president of sales and marketing. Before coming to the company in 1999, Snider was vice president of marketing for Pulte Homes's active adult division.


Jeffrey Dreyer joined McBride Electric Inc. in Denver, where he serves as manager of the company's construction division.


Olsson Associates'  Denver office expanded its civil engineering team with the recent addition of Amy Hickman , Martin Dillon , Carlos Medina and Shaun Brown, who all work on land planning projects.


Hooman Aryan and Geoffrey Brooksher , AIA, LEED AP, were promoted to senior associates at 4240 Architecture Inc. Aryan is assigned to the reconstruction and revitalization of Vail Village. Brooksher is technical director of the 4240's Chicago studio and head of the firm's Sustainable Architecture Task Force.


Steven Herrema , project superintendent, and Patrick Jasen , project manager/estimator, joined Mendel and Co. Construction , a Denver-based general contractor.


Patrick McNamara rejoined Nolte Associates as engineering manager at its Colorado Springs office. McNamara is responsible for overseeing the firm's efforts in that region and throughout southern Colorado and for contract management and coordination of residential development and non-national commercial development.


Audio/video design architect Chris Evans , who has more than 25 years of experience, joined Dutch Communications Inc. as a project manager for the company's commercial division.


Mindy Davine joined HDR  as a marketing manager in the Denver office. Her primary focus will be business development for the firm's architecture group.


Palace Construction added five new professionals to its staff this summer - Dennis Goldman , Bryon Casper and Rocky Holmes , superintendents; Trevor Hartley, estimator; and Paula Aldrich , project engineer.


Brian Kirtland has returned to the Boulder office of JVA Inc. , where he works as a project engineer in the structural department.
