Colorado Springs-based RTA Architects
has opened an office in downtown Pueblo.
"A good number of our clients are in Pueblo and outlying
areas," said RTA President and Principal Architect Randy
Thorne, AIA. "We want to be where they are."
The firm also has a design-build partnership with H.W. Houston
Construction Co. of Pueblo called Total Project Solutions
or TPS3. The new office location - 625 S. Union Ave. - is
three blocks from H.W. Houston's headquarters.
"The excellent communication between RTA and Houston
was part of what inspired us to team up together in the first
place," said TPS3 President Robert Kunkleman. "By
moving in virtually next door, we will be able to be even
more responsive and proactive on our clients' projects."
Richard Cherry, AIA, has joined the RTA Pueblo office as
a project manager, bringing 32 years of experience on churches,
schools, and commercial projects. The Pueblo team also includes
Matthew Burnette and Olha Schmidt, architectural interns;
Laurie Bussey, draftsperson and project assistant; and Susan
TenBrink, project manager and designer.
RTA will design and manage projects out of the Pueblo office,
including the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center project
in Alamosa.
"Our intention with this expansion is to bring more
work to the Pueblo area," said Associate Principal Mark
Pelletier. "We want to have a strong presence in Pueblo
and become an integral part of the community."
The firm recently completed major expansion projects for
St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center in Pueblo and St. Thomas More
Hospital in Cañon City.
