Opus Northwest recently announced that The Pinnacle at City Park South, the company’s first residential project in Colorado, and the first residential high-rise buildings constructed in the area in the last two decades, has been honored as the “Development of the Year” by the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.

“We’re very honored to have received this distinguished award, and we’re very proud of the success The Pinnacle at City Park South has realized since its inception,” said Marshall Burton, vice president and general manager of Opus Northwest. “Our entire Denver team deserves to be commended, as the project represents the vision of Opus as a real estate developer, and our company’s dedication to bringing successful projects to the communities in which we live and work.”

Led by the Denver office of Opus Northwest LLC and Boulder-based Income Property Specialists, the Pinnacle will include 284 new residences near 17th Avenue and Fillmore Street on the site of the former Mercy Hospital. The first tower opened to residents last month.

The Pinnacle is the centerpiece of an overall City Park South development that includes luxury condominiums, park homes, mid-range homes, affordable housing and rental properties. At 8.3 acres, it is one of the largest urban infill developments under way in Denver and will produce roughly one million sq ft of new residential living space when the entire project is completed.

Opus Northwest is known for major projects such as the Lakewood City Commons and the Federal Department of Transportation’s 128,342-sq-ft office building in Lakewood. The architects for the Pinnacle are Opus Architects & Engineers of Minnetonka, Minn.; and Buchanan Yonushewski Group of Denver.
