The “going-bald” team from Littleton’s Pirnack-Walters Commercial Contractors gathered at Fado’s Irish Pub in Denver on Friday, where team members had their heads shaved to raise funds for St. Baldrick’s—an organization that helps fund research on pediatric cancer.
Each year, Pirnack-Walters engages in community events like the St. Baldrick’s fundraiser to support its commitment to both the community and the construction industry, said Larry Walters, company vice president. Next year, the firm plans to issue a challenge to other local general contractors to get involved in this community effort.
“Pirnack-Walters is dedicated to the long-term relationships we have with subcontractors, architects, owners and employees, and a team approach is encouraged with the goal of a successful project for every participant involved,” Walters said.
St. Baldrick’s is a volunteer-driven fundraising program for childhood cancer research. In eight years, the organization’s events have taken place in 18 countries and 46 U.S. states, raising more than $34 million—and shaving more than 46,000 heads.
