Hearing Will Evaluate CDOT Policies for Contracting with Minority, Women-Owned Firms
A public hearing to assess the Colorado Department of Transportation’s contracting and purchasing practices with minority- and women-owned highway design, engineering and construction firms will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Greeley Recreation Center, 651 10th St. in Greeley.
CDOT is asking business owners who have done business or attempted to do business with CDOT, or any prime contractor working with the department between January 1, 2002 and July 31, 2007, to attend the public hearing and share their experiences. CDOT wants to improve its business practices with contractors and vendors and help determine if barriers to participation, unfair procurement practices or discriminatory actions exist.
Oral testimony will be accepted during the public hearing from firms about CDOT’s current purchasing and procurement practices. The information will help fuel recommendations about what types of business enterprise programs are needed statewide.
