1. COSMIX–Colorado Springs Metro Interstate Expansion

Design-build project to widen I-25 from two to three lanes in each direction through Colorado Springs. Also includes improvements to several key interchanges and bridges along the corridor, plus construction of noise walls.

2. U.S. Highway 287 Reconstruction
Baca and Prowers counties
$17.5 million

Engineer: CDOT
Start: March 2007 Finish: October 2007

A 13-mi. reconstruction of U.S. 287 between Lamar and Springfield. It involves rebuilding the highway in concrete and shoulder widening, beginning just south of the U.S. 287/S.H. 116 intersection (mi. 39) and continuing north to mi. 52 (six mi. north of the Baca/Prowers county line).

3. E-470 at I-70 Ramp H Flyover
Aurora
$14.4 million

Start: December 2005 Finish: October 2007

Design-build project to create a two-lane, high-speed, non-stop route for traffic to transition from northbound E-470 to westbound I-70, bypassing three traffic signals. Highlights include an 11-span bridge structure more than 1,600 ft long and 50 ft high to fly over Colfax Avenue, E-470 and I-70.

4. I-270/I-76 Flyover–Phase IV
Adams County
$14 million

General Contractor: Edward Kraemer & Sons Inc
Engineer: Colorado Department of Transportation
Start: November 2006 Completion: April 2008

Precast, segmental bridge with 12 spans over S.H. 224, I-270 and I-76. Highlights include 2,280-ft flyover bridge, shoring, interstate realignment and the removal of a "dead man’s curve."

5. I-76
Sedgwick to the Nebraska State Line
$13.7 million

Reconstructs approximately 20 mi. of I-76

6. S.H. 145 Keystone Hill Climbing Lane
Telluride

Engineer: CDOT
Start: July 2006 Finish: Summer 2007
Construction of a climbing lane at Keystone Hill, plus six-ft-wide shoulders and seven retaining walls, drainage and guardrail improvements.

7. I-25/Speer Boulevard Interchange Modifications & Diamond Hill

$7 million
Owner: Colorado Department of Transportation
General Contractor: Flatiron Construction Corp
Engineer: HNTB Corp
Start: May 2006 Finish: August 2007

Removal of interstate loop ramps, plus new bridge, signalization at new interchange and construction of a 10-in. sidewalk atop new retaining wall along the west side of I-25 to connect Speer to 23rd  Avenue.
