Project Scope: As a rural hospital
serving an aging population, up to 60 percent of Southwest
Memorial's revenue comes from Medicare reimbursement. In addition,
as with many rural hospitals that lack funds for new technology,
care has shifted to outpatient services. Catering to this
need, the 19,070-sq-ft addition and the 18,530-sq-ft renovation
will include a laboratory, surgery, recovery, outpatient surgery,
radiology, admitting/registration and lobby/waiting areas.

project includes a new emergency room, a new cancer center
wing, a diagnostics area, intensive care unit and patient
bed tower.
H.W. Houston is also providing preconstruction and construction
services for a $16 million expansion and remodel of St. Thomas
Moore Medical Center in Canon City, and it is the design-builder
for a new $18 million replacement hospital in Delta.

Rock Creek Medical Office Building

Project Scope: This specialized
medical facility connected to Exempla Hospital is four stories
tall and occupies 250,000 sq ft. Key features include a satellite
pharmacy, exam rooms, laboratories for pathology, head/neck
treatment, plastic surgery, infusion treatment (chemotherapy)
and phototherapy treatment as well as a basement for material
storage space.
Other Kaiser Permanente jobs being built by A&P include:
Kaiser Franklin Facility Remodel. Addition of a 12th story
to an existing occupied and fully functioning facility. Renovation
and relocation of several departments, including oncology,
plastic surgery, radiology, neurosurgery and various labs.
The addition of an operating room, minor procedures and ambulatory
surgery center. Replacement of mechanical systems and upgrade
of electrical systems. Architect: Davis Partnership
Wheat Ridge Medical Office Building Addition and Full Renovation.
A 12,000-sq-ft addition plus 48,000-sq-ft renovation. Includes
a new optical department, pharmacy, pediatrics, radiology,
ob/gyn, internal medicine, blood lab and conference rooms.

a central atrium for easy patient wayfinding. A 180,000-sq-ft
medical office building will be attached to the hospital.

Project Scope: A 24,000-sq-ft
third-floor vertical expansion onto the existing facility
while all components of the hospital remained active. The
addition placed 25 more patient beds into service, with
integrated monitoring devices, headwall units and medical
gasses. The existing elevator cores had to be extended and
two new elevators were added.
