  • In this issue, Colorado Construction launches a new section in which we profile the companies, people and projects that have had a significant impact on communities outside the Denver metro area. These influences come in many forms: new development, innovative technologies for solving local problems, landmark projects that help create more jobs or upgrade the local infrastructure, and bold initiatives that have changed the face of a community.

This issue features the first five on our list of 10 Community Impact Leaders, those from towns up and down the Front Range outside Denver. The second five will run in our September issue, featuring community impacts from the Western Slope and elsewhere in the region. These are not ranked lists, and the profiles are presented in random order.

The editorial staff at McGraw-Hill selected the projects and people profiled here after detailed research and consultation with local leaders from around the state. Our choices were not the result of an open competition. No judges, fees or entries were involved. We plan to continue this feature in later issues, including a section for leaders from the Denver metro area, so if you have a project, company or person you’d like us to consider for a future community impact section, please let us know by calling 303-584-6724.
