Design Matters
The July edition of Design Matters continues our series of reports on Colorado neighborhoods undergoing redevelopment, expansion and change. This month we feature Olde Town Arvada, the site of new transit-oriented development that has brought mixed-use projects and plans for many more, despite uncertain deadlines for completion of the area’s light rail line, which sparked the redevelopment.
Also this month, we feature a health care design commentary from MOA Architecture’s David Mashburn, senior project manager; and Gregory J. Markling, principal, on trends in well-care facilities. Design is moving away from drab institutional-like buildings to elegant progressive-care neighborhoods promoting the ongoing health of those who are chronologically gifted.
This edition of Design Matters does not feature a Founder’s Profile. CCM will continue the series in the August issue with a feature on H+L Architecture, one of Colorado’s top education design firms.
If your firm has a dynamic or unusual design project or perspective to offer, please let our editorial department know, and we will consider it for inclusion in future issues. Call 303-584-6724.
