This edition of Colorado Design Matters contains our annual rankings of the region’s top design firms in an overall list that combines architects and engineers, followed by specialty lists for each profession.

Here’s how the most recent lists were determined. Every year, Colorado Construction makes our Top Design Firms survey available to hundreds of Colorado firms. This year, we also opened the survey to firms in Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota. Information for this year’s rankings was gathered solely through Web-based questionnaires. No survey forms were faxed or mailed.

Firms were asked to provide revenue totals for their 2008 fiscal year based on fees for all design work done out of their Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota office(s). Those totals were the only criteria for the rankings.
