CITC Receives Re-Accreditation
On February 3, the Construction Industry Training Council
of Colorado Inc. received re-accreditation as an Accredited
Training Sponsor of the National Center for Construction Education
and Research.
NCCER is a non-profit 501(c)(3) education foundation serving
a wide range of industry, including construction, maintenance
and pipeline. NCCER is dedicated to developing and maintaining
a standardized training process for these industries. NCCER
accreditation elevates construction, maintenance and pipeline
training in the United States by establishing a minimum quality
benchmark for training.
CITC first applied to NCCER in 1999 and became accredited
in June 1999. The initial process of accreditation involved
an accreditation visit by NCCER to ensure that CITC had the
resources and support from trade associations needed to conduct
craft training. Re-accreditation assures that the Training
Sponsors continue to adhere to the guidelines crafted by NCCER.
CITC said that the NCCER accreditation supports its mission
statement: To provide a proud and quality workforce through
partnership development with associations and contractors
to:
- Provide quality curriculum, instructors and facilities;
- Attract and retain quality students; and
- Provide the opportunity for professional development.
CITC will be offering apprenticeship classes in carpentry,
electrical, masonry, plumbing and sheet metal beginning again
in August 2003. For information, call 303-893-1500.
