Pioneer School Being Built Using SIP System

Alliance Construction Solutions is building the new Pioneer School for Expeditionary Learning using a structural insulated panel system.

Foam-insulated panels have been used for years in residential construction, but recently, SIP systems are used more in commercial construction because of an increased interest in green building.

SIPS construction helps buildings achieve a much higher R-value, in some cases saving owners up to 50 percent in energy costs. The increased R-value also allows for installation of smaller heating and cooling systems and decreased use of fossil fuels.
The SIPS panels were chosen for this project because Pioneer School hopes to achieve a LEEDTM certification.
