The $350 million, 50-story Four
Seasons Hotel and residential tower will begin construction
in downtown Denver this year.
Four Seasons Makes
First Foray into Denver
Construction will begin this year on the The Four Seasons
Hotel and Private Residences, a hotel-affiliated residential
tower that will be built on the southeast corner of Arapahoe
and 14th streets, adjacent to The Denver Center for Performing
Arts.
It's expected to finish in 2007.
The project is valued at $350 million, making it the most
expensive privately owned building ever built in Denver. The
50-story tower - 752 ft tall, including the spire - will be
the third tallest downtown building by floors and contain
922,000 sq ft, with usable floor space of 695,000 sq ft.
The development will include 140 luxury private residences,
230 hotel rooms and suites, a restaurant, full-service spa
and fitness center, retail shops and 447 parking spaces.
Carney Architects is the architect-of-design and HKS Inc.
is the architect-of-record. The interior designer is Yabu
Pushelberg. Four Seasons is developing the project in partnership
with Denver-based developers Teatro Tower LLC, managed by
Jeff Selby and Michael Brenneman.

CU Starts Construction on New Law School
Construction will begin this month on the new School of Law
at the University of Colorado in Boulder. The project broke
ground in November and is set for completion by the fall 2006
semester.
More than $8 million in privately raised money will support
the construction and $5.6 million has been added from CU-Boulder's
reserve funds. Students will be the largest contributors,
paying $26.9 million of the total building costs through a
law school tuition differential of $1,000 a year, which began
in 1999, and a $400-a-year fee assessment on all 29,000 CU-Boulder
students.
The student fee will also finance three other campus construction
projects.
