Weitz Employees Raise $10,000 for Mile High United Way
Employees of The Weitz Co. Rocky Mountain Business Unit held their second annual silent auction in September to benefit Mile High United Way.
The company-wide fundraiser brought in $10,000 to support local educational programs that improve lives in the Denver community.
As part of a long-standing relationship with United Way, The Weitz Co. Rocky Mountain Business Unit began the tradition of a silent auction in 2007. Weitz employees and subcontractors were challenged to donate items for sale, and employees came together to bid on those items at an after-work barbeque.
Big-ticket items were donated by Encore Electric, Rocky Mountain Prestress, A&D Reprographics, Shea Properties, CTL|Thompson, Proline Construction Supply Experts and Contractor Supply Inc.
Since the inception of the silent auction in 2007, Weitz employees have raised just under $18,000 for the Mile High United Way.
