Architecture Firms Make Changes and New Hires/GE Johnson Employees Complete LEED Accreditation/Jackmond Named DCS President

Several architectural and engineering firms announced personnel changes and new hires, including Nolte, CTL/Thompson, Fentress Bradburn, klipp, Martin/Martin, RNL Design, OZ, Arbo Group, SBEC, HDR, David Evans, Arbor Associates, Anderson Mason Dale, Beaudin Ganze and Loris.

Charles Zich represented the Western Colorado Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors at the 2006 ABC National Craft Championships held last month in Las Vegas. Zich is a fourth-level electrical student in the ABC Construction Education Program.


Adolfson & Peterson Construction promoted Don Chambliss to project manager and Raymond Woodard to preconstruction manager.


Todd Ellsworth joined Hyder Construction as an estimator.

Before that, Ellsworth worked for five years at The Beck Group in Fort Worth. His experience includes estimates on corporate office, retail, higher education and high-tech projects.


Todd Cartwright, PE, joined Nolte Associates in Colorado Springs as a senior engineer, where he is responsible for the comprehensive management of all project elements, including construction supervision, contracts, bidding and budget management and quality control.


Matt Matherly was named business development manager for Weitz-Norris Custom Homes, a business unit of The Weitz Co.


CTL/Thompson hired R.B. "Chip" Leadbetter III, PE, as a project engineer for its Fort Collins office. His position involves leading special projects in geological and geotechnical explorations for residential, commercial and public works projects.


Saunders Construction in Centennial added five new staffers - Keith McLaughlin, project manager; Ron Wittwer, MEP coordinator; Michael Baksa, Derek Breier, Doug Wilson and John Donakowski, project engineers; Chris York, payroll administrator; and Andrew Ray and David Foley, project engineer interns.


Five people were promoted earlier this year at Denver's Fentress Bradburn Architects. Jack Cook III, CDT, CCCA, and Catherine Dunn, AIA, were named senior associates while Karen Bomar, Jonathan Coppin, AIA, LEED AP, Jessica del Pilar and Alexander Thome, AIA, CDT, LEED AP, were made associates.


Denver's klipp also added five new staff members to the firm - Jeremy Geddes, Rebecca Rodgers, Melanie Chadwick, Tim O'Brien and Heather Vasquez.


Martin/Martin Inc. Consulting Engineers made the following personnel changes in its civil and structural divisions:

Chad Carr, PE, Nicole Ellison, PE, Steve Neff, PE, and Pontus Ugander, PE, were promoted to senior professional engineer.

Daniel DeLange, PE, Brian Dummer, PE, and Scott Paling, PE, were promoted to senior project engineer.

Promoted to professional engineer were Brady Golinski, PE, and Cara Phillips, PE, while Gina Graves, PE, and Phillip Krieble, PE, were named project engineers.

Eight staffers were promoted to Engineer II - Den Downey, Jeff Carlson, Emily Guglielmo, Charlie McLean, Rob Frankenberger, Ray Hill, Andy Rogers and Jane Thompson.

Dennis Peter was promoted to senior designer and Estrella Bernal, Samantha Lopez and Tyson Sillery were promoted to CAD tech.


Real estate veteran Maria Cook is the new executive director of Metro Brokers Inc.


RNL Design made several additions to its staff in Denver - Maria Bozeman, project manager; Lauren Brown, graphics department; Fritz Gale, project coordinator; Marc Herndon, NCIDQ, project designer; Matt Howell, architectural intern; Michael Lent, project architect; Paul Ruffini, LEED AP, mechanical engineer; Erin Strande, human resources assistant; Jessica Voigt, project designer; and Mike Zelman, PE, senior mechanical engineer.

Also, Ashwin Bhavikatti, Bob Beblavi and Merlin Maley became LEED-accredited professionals and Ron Izzo passed his architectural exams and was promoted to senior project designer.


OZ Architecture announced several new hires at its studios in Boulder, Denver and Dillon - Marketing Director Elaine Jensen, who returns to OZ after a five-year absence; Kiley Baham and Matt Faichnie and Geoff Graff, architectural interns; Donna Kimsey, project manager; Nancy Blackwood, urban designer; Don Eagle, CAD manager; Martin Calderon, IT and CAD manager; and Jayna Kline, Elen Niamthet, Tiffany Wilkerson and Sarah Tommer, interior designers


Peter Einsle, AIA, was promoted to associate principal at The Arbo Group Inc., where his new responsibilities will include architectural design and project management, with a special emphasis on military projects.


Twelve employees of GE Johnson Construction Co. in Colorado Springs completed the accreditation process for U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. They are Bud Gaines, Chris Holt, Jamie Schwartz, Jeremy Hartzell, Jim Field, Jim Wilder, Matt Glenn, Matt Melssen, Mike Shelstad, Patrick Elder, Paul Blatnak and Ted Kelly.


Barry Stamp, PE , LEED AP, become a full partner and third principal at Shaffer Baucom Engineering & Consulting.


Dan Seifert joined Englewood-based commercial roofing and waterproofing contractor WeatherSure Systems Inc. as a technical waterproofing sales associate. His primary focus will be working with owners, property managers and engineers on structural repair and waterproofing of parking structures and curtain walls.


Jeff Jackmond was promoted to president of Demand Construction Services Inc.

Jackmond joined the company in 1982 and has the longest tenure of any employee, past or present. He served as vice president for 22 years, operations manager for seven years and is a stockholder and board of directors member.

Al Jongeneel, president of Demand for the past 17 years, will continue serving as chairman of the board. He will also devote more time to consulting work and marketing.


David Gebel, LEED AP, joined HDR as senior project manager in its Denver office.

A former principal and vice president of health care at Lantz-Boggio Architects PC, Gebel has also worked at Hansen, Lind, Meyer Inc., The Hoffman Partnership Inc. and Fisher, Reece and Johnson Architects PC.


David Evans and Associates Inc. in Denver recently made the following personnel changes and new hires:

Bill Byrne, who was recently named project manager for RTD's West Corridor Light Rail final design project, was appointed vice president of transit planning and design.

Joe Hart was named office manager.

Stacy Tschuor is the new leader of the transportation planning/traffic engineering group.

Steve Long, vice president, was named discipline director for transportation while Jane Boand is the new discipline director for environmental sciences and planning.

Terry Ruiter joined the firm as a senior environmental planner.

Ian Chase was hired as a transportation planner.

Mark Murphy joined the firm as senior project controls engineer.


Dan Petramala and Alan Johnson joined Richard P. Arber Associates in Lakewood.


Keith Boyd, AIA, Kenny Davis, RA, Casey Gerken, AIA, and James Taylor, AIA, were promoted to the position of associate at Anderson Mason Dale Architects in Denver.


Michael Reed, PE, LC, LEED AP and Tia Nord, LC, LEED AP - both of Beaudin Ganze Consulting Engineers in Denver - passed the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions exam for Lighting Certification.

Reed is an electrical project manager in the firm's Denver office. Nord is the firm's lighting designer.


Mace Pemberton, PE, joined Loris and Associates Inc. in Lafayette as an associate principal in charge of the firm's civil department.


Chris Hinton, PE, was named senior project and group manager for Carter & Burgess' transportation unit in Denver, where he will oversee construction materials testing for both the laboratory and field testing on construction projects.


eBlueprint promoted Mike Sutton to vice president of sales and Bob Johnsen to president of the Colorado division.

Sutton will oversee the growth of the company and its current locations in Colorado and Ohio. Johnsen will oversee operations and business development for the Colorado market.
