Transportation Commission Elects New Officers/OZ Announces Staff Promotions/Vision Land Promotes 3, Adds 8
Doug Aden of Grand Junction was elected as new chairman of the Colorado Transportation Commission and Bill Swenson of Longmont was elected vice chairman. Aden represents District 7; Swenson represents District 4.
The Colorado Transportation Commission
has elected Doug Aden of Grand
Junction as its new chairman and Bill
Swenson of Longmont as its new vice chairman.
Aden represents District 7, which includes Chaffee, Delta,
Eagle, Garfield, Gunnison, Lake, Mesa, Montrose, Ouray, Pitkin
and Summit counties. He has served on the commission since
September 1997.
Swenson, a former state representative, represents District
4, which includes Boulder and Adams counties. He also served
as co-chairman of the transportation legislation review committee
before being appointed to the commission in July 2003.
Timothy Harris is the new regional
transportation director for the Colorado
Department of Transportation's Region Two, encompassing
southeastern Colorado.
Harris, a 26-year CDOT employee, will oversee all CDOT activities
throughout southeastern Colorado, including construction and
maintenance.
He replaces Bob Torres, PE,
who joined Carter & Burgess
as a group manager for the Denver transportation unit. Torres
will be based in Colorado Springs.
OZ Architecture promoted two
of its staff members to associate principal and six others
were named senior associates.
The new associate principals are Jeff
Dawson and Chad Holtzinger,
AIA.
Brian Haffey, Dan Miller, Kate Fields,
Ken Breitkreuz, AIA; and Elizabeth Yo, CDT, LEED AP;
are the newly appointed senior associates.
Westwood Contractors Inc. appointed
Clarissa Campbell as vice president
and chief financial officer of the company - only the second
CFO Westwood has had in its 23-year history.
Campbell has 20 years of accounting and financial experience;
five of those years included industry experience with Carter
& Burgess Inc. Her most recent position was vice president
and controller of a managed-care provider.
Brien Gidlow, PE, and William "B.J." Schnitzler
joined HDR - Gidlow as a senior project manager in the water
engineering group and Schnitzler as an electrical engineer
in the environmental and resources management group. Both
men are based in the firm's Denver office.
Lantz-Boggio Architects announced
six new promotions earlier this fall - Mark
Baker and Paul Bormann
were named principals; Scott Shea
and Vera Margheim were named
senior associates; and Bill Speck
and Peter Adams were named associates.
The firm also added several new people to its Englewood office
- Scott Boduch, project architect;
Shawn Croissant, project manager;
Chris Clause, project coordinator;
Jason Weber, CAD technician;
and Brian Culver, manager of
IT/CAD systems.
Jerome Klint was named Ameristar Casinos Inc.'s new vice
president of construction, effective Sept. 1. Reporting to
Alan Rose, senior vice president of construction, Klint will
be responsible for construction of Ameristar projects, including
department administration and coordination of pre-planning,
budgeting, contracting, purchasing and onsite observation
of construction.
Amber Stephens joined Wenk Associates Inc. as marketing director,
responsible for the firm's strategic marketing and business
development.
Six engineers in Martin/Martin Inc. Consulting Engineers'
Colorado office have received their license to practice as
professional engineers. Bruce Haynes, PE, André Schlappe,
PE, and Michael Goldstein, PE, received licenses from Wyoming;
Emily Guglielmo, PE, earned a civil engineering license from
California; and Colorado licenses were earned by Thomas Repp,
PE, and Tracey Wise, PE.
JG Johnson Architects in Denver
added two new members to its staff - Tim
Ross, AIA, and Elizabeth Pahlke.
Ross, a licensed architect in Colorado and Nevada with more
than 10 years of experience, is currently working on a new
hospitality project in Telluride. Pahlke is an architectural
intern whose main focus will be hospitality projects.
Joel Levenberg, CSI, CDT, ICRI, was promoted to technical
director for US SPEC, a division of US MIX Co. In his new
role, he will take over the development of the company's A&E
program and technical training initiatives.
Justin Olson, PE, was promoted
to project manager at Vision Land Consultants
Inc. Steve Voehringer
was promoted to project engineer and Mitch
Winters to senior designer.
The firm also added eight new employees this summer - Cody
Matson, Joshua Root, James Usher, Grant Newton, Joe Hemelt
and Jessica Kent, design engineers; and Katie
Cooley and Craig Houser, construction managers.
Tonya Hart was recently named engineering division manager
for CTL/Thompson's Denver office. Before this, Hart served
as a project manager on geotechnical engineering projects.
Jared Hall has been appointed to the newly created position
of project manager at BonaKemi USA, and Chad Nordhagen has
been promoted to finish product manager.
Bob Allen was promoted to director of business development
for HomeSphere.
James Chang, PE, and Gregory
Weeks, PE, joined the civil engineering department
at S.A. Miro Inc.
Chang is an associate and manager of water resources; Weeks
is an associate.
The Wheat Ridge office of Terracon Consultants Inc. added
three new senior-level staff members for its geotechnical,
construction materials and environmental engineering departments
- Rafael Baltodano Goulding, PhD, EIT, staff engineer; Robert
Cords, PE, operations specialist; and Russ Pickering, MS,
a senior project manager.
Tim Maley joined The Beck Group as director of business development.
Tim Nielsen, LEED AP, has joined Thissen Construction Corp.
in Greeley as the company's chief estimator, while Dan Malpiede
joined the company as a project superintendent.
Tricia Gibbons and Royce Peterson
were promoted to associates at DLR
Group in Colorado Springs.
Gibbons is the office manager and has been employed by the
firm since 2002. Peterson has been with DLR Group for 20 years,
providing CAD and architectural support services.
Ed Binkley, AIA , was named the new national design director
for BSB Design , formerly Bloodgood Sharp Buster Architects
and Planners Inc. The Des Moines-based firm has 15 offices
nationwide, including Denver.
Drexel, Barrell & Co. added
two new professionals to the firm - James
Brzostowicz, PE , and Robert
Bennett, PE .
Brzostowicz is head of the land development engineering department
for the Boulder office. Bennett is a senior project manager
in the water resources department.
