Leadership Changes at Swerdfeger/Ivins Design Group Expands/Nolte Appoints New Principal
Keith Swerdfeger, president of K.R. Swerdfeger Construction Inc., stepped down on Nov. 1, handing leadership of the family business to son Raymond Swerdfeger, who has been employed at the company for 12 years. The elder Swerdfeger will continue to serve as chairman of the board.

changed leadership on Nov. 1, when Keith
Swerdfeger stepped down as president and his son, Raymond
Swerdfeger, became the new president responsible for
the day-to-day operations of the company.
Raymond Swerdfeger, formerly the current executive vice president,
will continue to serve as a member of the board of directors.
Keith Swerdfeger will remain chairman of the board.
J. Paul Banks joined Shaw Construction as chief financial
officer, responsible for overseeing the accounting and administration
of staff for the company.
Matt Chaiken was promoted to
regional director at Ware Malcomb's
Denver office.
Chaiken, who has 14-plus years of architectural experience,
joined the firm in 2004 as project manager for the commercial
architecture studio. Earlier this year, he was promoted to
studio manager.
Lakewood-based Homesphere promoted Glenn Renner from senior
vice president and chief marketing officer to the newly created
role of chief operating officer.
Kevin Andrew joined RNL
in Denver as chief operations/financial officer.
Before joining the firm, Andrew worked at H+L Architecture,
where he was chief financial officer. He has also run his
own consulting practice and worked at a number of other large
design and technology firms.
Adam White, PE, was hired as a mechanical engineer at Shaffer
Baucom Engineering & Consulting. He has more than seven
years of mechanical design experience and a bachelor's degree
in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University.
Adolfson & Peterson Construction in Aurora reorganized
its marketing department with the appointments of Suvi Caton
to marketing director, Al Grasso to marketing manager and
Darlene Martin to marketing assistant.
Forest City appointed a Tanalee Storm as specialty leasing
manager for Northfield Stapleton, the 1.2-million-sq-ft "Main
Street" regional town center that opened on Oct. 26 in
Denver. David Boyza was named assistant general manager and
Rachael Stiedemann was appointed marketing coordinator.
Michael Kraemer, PE, was named
chief executive officer and president of Short
Elliott Hendrickson Inc.
A 30-year SEH veteran, he served as interim CEO/president
for nearly five months while the company developed and implemented
a search process. For the past six years, he also led the
company's civil market center.
Jody Barone and Nicole
Horst joined Wenk Associates
Inc.; Barone as a senior project manager and Horst
as a project manager.
Before joining Wenk, Barone was founding principal of M Barone
& Associates in Fort Collins; she has also worked with
EDAW Inc., also in Fort Collins.
Horst rejoined Wenk after working as a project manager with
Mayer Reed in Portland, Ore.
Lee Lindeen, PE, DEE, was named
managing engineer for Boyle Engineering's
Denver office.
Lindeen is past chair of the Rocky Mountain section of the
American Water Works Association and recipient of the group's
2005 Fuller Award and 2001 Lyle Herman Distinguished Service
Award.
Chris Long, who has more than
18 years of experience specializing in high-tech facilities,
joined JE Dunn Construction,
where he is is serving as a project manager for Medical Center
of the Rockies in Loveland.
The general contractor also added three other new staffers
this fall - Erica Hammond, assistant
project manager; and Jason Cook
and Matthew Carey, project manager
trainees.
Ken Manssouri, who has more
than 21 years of design experience, was hired this fall by
MCG Architecture as director
of design for the Denver office.
His current duties include directing several large projects,
including Tuskatella Center, a Mediterranean remodel of a
shopping center in Orange, Calif., Twenty One Oaks, a 52-acre
mixed-use site in Southlake, Texas; and Mountainside at Spectrum
Commercial Core, a mixed-use project in Gilbert, Ariz.
Margie De Laurell joined JR
Engineering as a project manager, while Thane
Bishop, PLS, was promoted to project surveyor.
De Laurell has more than 10 years of engineering experience,
including drainage, hydrology and extensive site investigation
and feasibility reporting. Bishop began working at the firm
in 2004 as a Surveyor I and received his PLS professional
license last December.
Ted Willis, who has more than 11 years of experience in the
industry, joined Mark Young Construction Inc. as an estimator.
Tyler Nottberg was named chairman
and CEO of U.S. Engineering Co.
- the fifth generation of the Nottberg family to lead the
company, which has offices in Colorado, Tennessee and Kansas
City, Mo. He succeeded former CEO Dwight
Brinkman, who retired.
Two other promotions were also announced - Tim
Moormeier to president and Bob
Brunson to vice president of Colorado operations
Ivins Design Group expanded its architecture and interior
design practices with the addition of four associates - Donald
Goerig, architectural project coordinator; Jennifer Bergendahl,
interior designer; Amy Lynn Juzenas, interior design assistant;
and Trevor Lyle, computer graphics designer.
Mary Rose Loney, AAE, was named president and CEO of the
DIA Partnership. In this position, she will lead development
and public policy initiatives and serve as an advocate for
the Northeast Metro/Denver International Airport area.
L. Daniel Israel, PE, a Terracon
senior vice president and Rocky Mountain operating group manager,
will receive a professional degree of civil engineering from
the University of Missouri at Rolla this month.
The university awards a limited number of professional degrees
by invitation only to people whose accomplishments reflect
well on the school and bring recognition to the campus.
Douglas Decker, vice president of White Construction Group,
completed the requirements to be named a Designated Design-Build
Professional by the Design-Build Institute of America.
Elaine Grover joined Jordy/Carter
Furnishings and Jordy Construction as chief financial
officer.
Grover, a certified public account licensed in Colorado, has
more than 20 years of experience, including serving as senior
auditor at Touche Ross and, most recently, as controller,
treasurer and vice president at Merrick and Co.
Roger Miller was appointed
as a principal a Nolte Associates Inc.
Miller is managing director of the firm's Colorado Springs
office and, as an associate, assists in managing firm-wide
operations and planning. He also plays an integral role in
the direction and management of transportation and public
works projects for the entire Rocky Mountain region.
