Colorado CEFPI Honors Brokaw/T-REX's Hodge Hired by Forest City/Provident Construction Adds Five
The Colorado Chapter of the Council of Educational Facility Planners International presented its first-ever Dr. William R. Maclay Planner of the Year Award to Denver architect John "Jack" Brokaw, who manages the K-12 design studio at klipp.

Mountain Chapter of the Council of Educational Facility Planners
International.
Sunnie Fanelli was appointed manager of business development
at Adolfson & Peterson Construction in Aurora. Two other
people also joined the company - Rick Ritter as a senior project
manager and Doron Shmueli as a project engineer.
Colleen McCann of Kephart and Bill Smith of Mercury LDO joined
the Denver Chapter of the Society for Design Administration,
bringing its membership to 50. The Denver group is already
known as one of the largest SDA chapters in the nation.
Gary Thomas, PE, was named president of Martin/Martin Consulting
Engineers Inc.
Thomas, who has been with Martin/Martin and its predecessor
firms since 1974, has been the civil department manager for
16 years and a member of the board of directors since 1998.
Susan Gilbert has joined HDR as the central regional director
for its water business group, based in the Denver office.
In this role, she serves as overall lead for implementing
the firm's water and wastewater business practice throughout
the central region.
Roger Miller was appointed as a principal at Nolte Associates
Inc.
Miller is managing director of the firm's Colorado Springs
office and, as an associate, assists in managing firm-wide
operations and planning. He also plays an integral role in
the direction and management of transportation and public
works projects for the Rocky Mountain region.
Heath Construction in Fort Collins added two new staffers
last month - Joey Hardy, project manager; and Jim Matlock,
project engineer.
Junior Estimator Chris Spyke and Project Manager Courtney
White, both of White Construction Group, have earned LEED
professional accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Jeff Willis, a principal of Denver-based Talavera Properties
and executive vice president of Berkeley Homes, was officially
appointed president of the Home Builders Association of Metro
Denver during the organization's annual installation and recognition
dinner on Dec. 6.
Phil Lindemer, president of Esprit Homes, was appointed president
of the group's board of directors.
Andy Marchase was promoted to president of the construction
division at Citywide Banks.
Two landscape architects from Design Concepts in Lafayette
- Kerry White, ASLA, and Rachel Brenna - have earned their
licenses to practice in Wyoming.
Four employees at Drahota Inc. earned LEED accreditation
from the U.S. Green Building Council - Jeff Jensen, COO; Joel
Hardy, estimator; Todd Annand, estimator; and Todd McCowin,
superintendent. Drahota's chief estimator, Todd Park, is also
LEED accredited.
The Denver office of Gensler added several new staff members
- Michael Wisneski, AIA ; Harry Spetnagel; Kristine Rouse;
Monica Gill; Matt Hicks; Jenny West; Blake Lasley; and Jenny
Geyer.
Allison Hodge joined Forest City Stapleton as a senior marketing
manager. For the past six years, Hodge oversaw the public
information program for the Denver metro area's $1.67 billion
T-REX project.
Brian Levitt, LEED AP, was named Forest City Fitzsimons'
vice president of development for the Colorado Bioscience
Park Aurora at Fitzsimons.
Rob Martin, design engineer, and Raymond Pribble, environmental
engineer, have joined Richard P. Arber Associates in Lakewood.
Drafter Jared Rodrigues has joined the structural engineering
department at JVA Inc. in Boulder.
Kimberly Ohara was named the residential design director
for KTGY Group Inc. Architecture and Planning's newly opened
office in Denver.
Ray Weyerman was appointed agricultural sales manager at Wagner
Equipment Co., the Caterpillar/Challenger dealer for Colorado,
New Mexico and west Texas. He is based in Windsor.
Weyerman will be based in Windsor.
Matt Coleman, CPCU, ARM, president of commercial lines of
Denver's Van Gilder Insurance Corp., was elected treasurer
of Assurex Global, the world's largest privately held risk
management, commercial insurance and employee benefits brokerage
group.
Jane Pahl was named marketing coordinator for Pahl Architecture
Provident Construction Co. added five project managers -
John Klockner, LEED AP, Robert Perlman, Kevin Howard, James
Leckenby and Craig Bradley.
Suzan Thomas was promoted to sales representative at Jordy/Carter
Furnishings. She specializes in commercial markets, including
law firms, office space, health care and financial institutions.
Chris Martinez, chair of the Regional Transportation District's
board of directors, will be honored in March as the Hispanic
Contractors of Colorado's 2006 Community Advocate of the Year.
The award recognizes Martinez's ongoing efforts to include
business training and contracting opportunities for minority/women/small
businesses.
