Third Generation of Hunts Joins JE Dunn/BA Names New Principals/Maxwell Builders Adds Six

H. Tommy Hunt is the third generation of his family to work for JE Funn Construction, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather.

H. Tommy Hunt, building information modeling specialist, is the third generation in his family to join JE Dunn Construction.

His grandfather, Jesse Hunt Sr., joined the contractor in 1954, where he worked as a timekeeper and warehouse supervisor until his death in 1985. His father, Jesse Hunt Jr., joined JE Dunn in 1972 and continues to serve as a senior superintendent.


Laura D’Ardenne and Ben Bohmann of The Weitz Co. in Denver have been certified through the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED program.


Tia Jenkins is now president and owner of Kieding Office Architects, where she will maintain her duties as senior project manager in addition to overseeing all executive and administrative responsibilities.

The firm also added two new staff – Chris Thomas, project manager, and Ahmad Nelson, project assistant.


Seven employees at Adolfson & Peterson Construction in Aurora earned accreditation through the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED program, bringing the A&P LEED office total to 17. They are Rick Stanzyk, Jason Heustis, Mario Cappella and Chad Jelinek, project managers; John Haass, project superintendent; Chris Hitchcock, superintendent; and Dax Diaz, estimator.


Donald Myers, AIA, LEED AP, and Timothy Riddle, AIA, LEED AP, were named principals of Boulder Associates Architects.

Two new senior associates were named – Romano Nickerson, AIA, and Jon Tucker, AIA, LEED AP.

Drew Garst, AIA, LEED AP, James Lenhart, AIA, Jamie Mueller, IIDA,NCIDQ, and Jim Siedler, AIA, were named associates.

Myers, Riddle, Nickerson and Tucker, along with senior associates Kristi Ennis, AIA, director of sustainable design; and Eric Miller, director of technology; are now firm shareholders.


Two masons from competed in the 2007 SPEC MIX Bricklayer 500 on Jan. 24 in Las Vegas.

Bob Boll of Boll Masonry in Littleton competed with his son, Paul Boll, serving as his tender. Ray McDermott of Selway Masonry competed with Jason Frasier serving as his tender.

It was Bob Boll’s fifth trip to the national competition.


Vision Land Consultants Inc. promoted Jim Godwin, vice president, to principal and two senior project managers, Doug Richter, PE, and Randy Hergenrether, PE, to associate principals.

The company also expanded its construction management division, hiring Don Cabrera to run the operation.


Monroe & Newell Engineers added four structural engineers to its staff—Lelia Conlin, Tim Fredregill, Kirk Wolf and Chris Hessek—at the firm’s offices in Vail and Denver.


Bob Hansen was promoted to vice president and general manager of M. A. Mortenson Co.’s Colorado office.

Hansen started his career with Mortenson in 1986, joining the Denver office in 2000. In 2005 he was named the general manager of the company’s health care business.


Andrew Rosdil and Charlie Slattery joined JE Dunn Construction in Denver.
An assistant project manager, Rosdil’s current projects include Medical Center of Aurora.

Slattery is a project manager trainee assigned to the preconstruction department.


Jim Pagano, who has more than 23 years of experience, joined Nunn Construction Inc. in Colorado Springs as a senior project manager.


Darryl Eng was named engineering manager of Nolte Associates Inc.’s Denver construction management group, responsible for overseeing ongoing construction projects and developing program management projects.


Pahl Architecture in Denver recently hired six “CADDitects”– Jorge Hernandez, Gary Martinez, Tyson Morozs, Kevin Gates, Brian Weiss, Assoc. AIA, and Kathleen Gallagher.


Kirstie Dineen and Allison Abarr joined Kumar & Associates.
Dineen is an industrial hygienist. Abarr is business development coordinator for the firm’s Denver office.

Also, structural steel/welding inspector Jeff Jacobs, CWF, received the Colorado Section of the American Welding Society’s Dalton E. Hamilton Memorial CWF of the Year Section Award.


H. Wayne Leiser, president and CEO of Colorado Asphalt Services Inc. in Commerce City, was elected to the board of directors for the Colorado Asphalt Pavement Association.


Maxwell Builders Inc. added six new people to its staff – Dave Wanca, project manager; Tracey Chipman and Lisa Daily, project coordinators; Amy Zunk, payroll specialist; Griselda Hernandez, AP specialist; and Sally Immel, controller.


RNL in Denver added eight new people – Jonathan Bell, architectural intern and model shop coordinator; Kevin Blithe and Everardo Goyanes, architectural interns; Stewart Foster and Phil Pleiss, CAD draftsmen; Nathan Gaffrey, PE, and Jason Selken PE, mechanical engineers; and Jennifer Toll, senior project architect.


Jyotsna Vishwakarma, PE, a member of the land development team at Olsson Associates in Denver, received professional accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED program.


Six staff members at Wright Water Engineers Inc. in Denver earned advanced credentials in erosion and sediment control from the Certified Professionals in Erosion and Sediment Control program. They are Andrew Earles, PE; Ian Paton, Melissa Figurski, PE; Jane Clary, Rachel Pittinger, PE; and Jennifer Keyes


Sarah Armstrong, business development manager for FCI Constructors Inc. in Longmont, was recently given the Special Service Award for 2006 from the Associated Builders and Contractors Rocky Mountain Chapter.


Keith Humble, AIA, AGC, ICBO, NAHB, joined Englewood-based Lantz-Boggio Architects in its senior studio.

Licensed in three states, Humble’s current projects include the Lifecare Center in Aurora.


Four professionals at OZ Architecture passed the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED accreditation exam – Shannon Griess, Margaret Selzer, Hanna Przada and Lindsey Miller – bringing the total number of staff with LEED accreditation to 29.


Pat Andrews, CPSM, joined Shaffer Baucom Engineering & Consulting as the firm’s director of marketing. Her responsibilities include overseeing the company’s strategic marketing efforts.


Engineer and noted philanthropist John Edward Poole, OC, AOE., BSc, PEng, LLD, FCAE, died on Jan. 22 in Calgary. He was 90. Poole and his brother George developed PCL Construction Services Inc., the company founded by their father, Ernie.
