ABC Announces 2008 Board of Directors/PCL Denver Restructures Its Senior Management
The officers for the Associated Builders and Contractors Rocky Mountain Chapter 2008 Board of Directors are: Diane Miller of Shaw Construction, chair; Paul O’Donnell of Hensel Phelps Construction Co., vice-chair; Jeff Shigeno of Greiner Electric, past chairman; Randy Sewald of McBride Electric, chair-elect; Fred Artes of KeyBank, treasurer; and Tim Van Stelle of Duro Electric Co., secretary.
The 2008 directors are Rich Allison, Adolfson & Peterson Construction; Keith Couch, Weld County Garage GMC; Bill Eustace, Heating & Plumbing Engineers Inc.; Brad Gibson, Lockton Co.s.; Dale Heter, Mortenson Construction; Fred Joseph, The Blue Book; Scott Oglesby, Bauerle & Co. PC; Ken Pfannenstiel, LPR Construction Co.; and Tom Tyksinski, Palace Construction.
Opus Northwest, headquartered in Minneapolis with offices in Denver, recently announced that Scott Menefee has been promoted to vice president of real estate. Menefee has most recently been responsible for high-profile projects, including The Pinnacle at City Park South, The Wynkoop Residences and Parkside Office Plaza at Inverness. He will be responsible for identifying and planning new projects, establishing project schedules and budgets and creating profitable real estate opportunities for the company.
Aon Corp. recently announced that Scott Rons has joined Aon Construction Services Group as assistant vice president of surety operations. Based in Denver, Rons will help enforce Aon Construction Services Group’s strategic commitment to grow its footprint in Colorado.
The PCL family of companies recently announced the restructuring of senior management at PCL Construction Services Inc. in Denver. Jim Brown, Andy McCord and Ritch MacPherson have been appointed to new positions.
Brown has been appointed project director on the massive $820-million Metropolitan Gardens Gates Redevelopment project in Denver, which started in January. He has worked on many of Denver’s high-profile projects such as Denver International Airport, the Buell Theater renovation, Denver General Hospital expansion and renovation and Memorial Hospital renovation/addition.
McCord has been appointed mountain division manager. In his new role, McCord will oversee all mountain work for Denver District, which currently amounts to more than $370 million and is anticipated to exceed $1 billion in the next three years.
MacPherson has been appointed district operations manager. He is a 22-year veteran of PCL who developed into a project manager through his work on the $60-million Investors Group Headquarters and the $25-million 400 St. Mary office tower. In his new role, he will oversee all construction operations along the Front Range.
Meghan Bonich, a commercial-services estimator for Saunders Construction Inc. of Englewood, was awarded the 2007 National Association of Home Builders’ Outstanding Student of the Year Award at the International Builders’ Show in Orlando in February.
The award recognizes exceptional student members of the NAHB for their academic standing and involvement with the NAHB, local home builders’ associations and other work.
Tressa Saum has joined MW Golden Constructors of Castle Rock as a project manager. She has 13 years of experience in the construction industry, with the last 10 years in project management. Saum’s current assignments at MW Golden include the Tomahawk Road Fire Station, Altura Plaza Remodel and the Women’s Crisis Center.
Shahnaz Jaffari, technical assistant with the Rocky Mountain Masonry Institute, has been appointed to the U.S. Green Building Council’s Regional Task Force. This task force is charged with looking at proposed changes to the LEED rating system and recommending to the LEED Steering Committee how to offer regional credits.
This is the first time USGBC has considered regional differences in LEED, and it is groundbreaking for a representative of a small regional trade association to be named to the national task force.
