JE Dunn Announces Several Staff Promotions/Forest City Hires New Director of Marketing/Fedon Joins PCL/Metro Wastewater Reclamation Appoints New District Manager
JE Dunn Construction has announced promotions of the following staff members: Mike Sills to general superintendent; Steve Hollan and Wade Caron to superintendent; Dave Basagoitia to assistant superintendent; Joel Pennick and Andy Rosdil to project manager; and John McClellan to senior M/E coordinator.
Sills has been with JE Dunn for more than 21 years, primarily focused on health-care projects. Most recently, he led the delivery of Medical Center of the Rockies, a 558,000-sq-ft hospital in Loveland.
Hollan has 29 years of construction experience and also served on the Medical Center of the Rockies project team. His current assignment is at Peloton, a 520,000-sq-ft, mixed-use project in Boulder.
With three decades of experience, Caron has served on projects, including Portofino Tower, a 14-story, 54-unit luxury condominium in downtown Denver and the Medical Center of the Rockies.
Basagoitia joined JE Dunn in 2002 and has been involved in various projects including the Belmar redevelopment. Most recently, he served on the project team for the Residences at Belmar Plaza, a mixed-use building. He is currently serving on the Peloton project.
Pennick has more than five years of construction experience and is currently serving on the Sugar Building project in downtown Denver, a 10-story, mixed-use building with three levels of underground parking.
Rosdil also has five years of experience and is currently serving on the Medical Center of Aurora project, a 112,000-sq-ft patient tower expansion, 20,000-sq-ft remodel and 205,000-sq-ft, four-level parking structure.
McClellan is a seasoned professional with 28 years of experience, most recently serving on projects including Memorial Hospital North in northern Colorado Springs and the Medical Center of Aurora.
Greg Friess has joined Murphy Co. Mechanical Contractors and Engineers of Denver as a senior estimator.
Friess attended Cleveland State University and is an active member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers; American Society of Plumbing Engineers and Associated General Contractors of Colorado.
Forest City recently announced the appointment of Diana Fiore as director of marketing for the Orchard Town Center, a 983,000-sq-ft development, which opened April 3 at the northwest corner of Interstate 25 and 144th Avenue.
In her new position, Fiore will be responsible for establishing the marketing department, coordinating grand-opening activities and overseeing all marketing initiatives.
Before joining the Orchard Town Center, Fiore served as marketing director for the Shops at Northfield Stapleton in Denver and Antelope Valley Mall in Palmdale, Calif., both Forest City properties.
Jim Fedon has joined PCL Construction Services Inc. in Denver as manager of business development. He reports to Allen Ross, vice president and district manager.
He has served on the Construction Development Committee for the Colorado Springs Downtown Partnership and the Colorado College Construction Advisory Board. He was also an active member of the Colorado Springs Economic Development Council and the Colorado Springs Humane Society.
After a nationwide search, the board of directors of the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District unanimously chose Catherine R. Gerali to replace longtime District Manager Robert W. Hite, who died Dec. 4.
Gerali has 26 years of experience at the Metro District. She began as an account clerk in 1982 and has held several accounting and financial management positions. Before being selected as deputy manager in 2005, she was the strategic planning and internal control officer.
Gerali holds an MBA from the University of Colorado at Denver. She has a bachelor’s degree in business and public administration from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Gerali is the Metro District’s fifth district manager. She served as deputy manager from 2005-2008.
Power Motive Corp. recently announced that Darren Elkowich has been named general parts manager. In his new position, Elkowich is responsible for overseeing all parts and inventory levels in four branches and for training parts and service representatives in those branches.
Taylor Kohrs of Denver recently announced the addition of Michael Frye to the company as an estimator.
Frye has more than 18 years of experience in the construction industry, including extensive field experience. He has been involved in both the private and public building sectors, working on construction jobs that required his abilities in field engineering, site layout, project supervision, conceptual estimating, final bidding and project management. Additionally, Frye has worked with developer/builder companies and contractors specializing in tilt-up buildings.
Lisa Ferlita recently joined Swinerton Builders Colorado as a project executive and will lead the firm’s Healthcare Operations Group.
Ferlita has more than 17 years of experience in the health-care construction industry, both in construction management and development. She holds an American Society of Healthcare Engineering’s Health-care Construction Certificate. She works with Women in Construction at CSU to help other women looking to get into the industry, and she is an experienced speaker and published author.
Adolfson & Peterson Construction of Aurora recently announced new appointments in the Colorado office: Eric Kimmelshue, senior project manager; Joe Bedford, MEP coordinator; and Laura Kingfisher, estimator.
Kimmelshue comes to A&P with 20 years of construction experience. He graduated from California State University with a bachelor’s degree in construction management.
Bedford, a professional engineer and a LEED-accredited professional, has eight years of experience in the construction industry. He graduated from Oklahoma Christian University.
Kingfisher has 17 years of experience in construction estimating. She graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelor’s degree in construction management.
