New Denver Metro Realtors President Elected/Local
ASLA Fellows Inducted/CDOT Engineer Honored
LEED certifications continue to
grow among Colorado's design professionals.
Bob Bustos, Chris
Pedersen and Greg Collier were promoted to senior project
manager at Gerald H. Phipps Inc.

John Fairbairn has been elected
president of the Denver Metropolitan
Commercial Association of Realtors, the largest commercial
real estate association in the United States. He is an active
member since 1997 and a 16-year commercial real estate veteran.

Jerry Adamson, Loveland;
Todd Johnson, Denver; and J.
Patrick Shea Jr., Lakewood were among 32 members inducted
late last year into the American Society of Landscape Architects'
Council of Fellows.

David Eller, Region 3 materials
engineer for the Colorado Department
of Transportation, was awarded the 2004 Charles R.
Valentine Award for Excellence in Recycling by the Asphalt
Recycling and Reclamation Association.

Senior project managers David Stevenson,
PE, and Jeff Clevenger, PE,
have taken new management positions within Carter
& Burgess' Denver transportation programs unit.
Stevenson will manage the office's 65-person infrastructure
group while Clevenger will head the 110-person program management/construction
management group.

Mark Shaw, Sr. Managing Editor
with McGraw-Hill Construction Publications
in Denver, is the new editor-in-chief of AGC's Constructor,
the official magazine of the Associated General Contractors
of America - published by McGraw-Hill beginning this spring.
Shaw is adding editorship of the 40,000-circulation national
magazine to his other duties for MHC's regional publications.
He will continue to lead the editorial teams for Colorado
Construction, The Daily Journal, AIA Architect Colorado and
Colorado Builder Forum. He will be based out of McGraw-Hill's
Denver office.

Joel Gregg, formerly a display
ad sales rep with Colorado Construction
magazine, has joined Engineering
News-Record, Design-Build
and Constructor magazines as
the northwest/mountain/southwest accounts manager. Gregg will
continue to be based out of McGraw-Hill's Denver office.

Richard Brown, PE, has joined
Carter & Burgess as a vice
president and program manager with the Transportation Programs
Unit in Denver. He will also be an associate of the firm.

Douglas Carnahan was unanimously
elected a vice president of Merrick
& Co. during the Aurora-based corporation's November
19 board of directors meeting.

Michael Kiefer, PE, has joined
PSI's Wheat Ridge operations office as the environmental
services department manager, where he will oversee environmental
engineering projects for the company..

Jeremy Hollands, a mechanical
engineer with Cator, Ruma & Associates,
was certified by the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED program
and elected to the Technical, Energy and Government Affairs
Committee of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of ASHRAE.

Michelle Bean, Annette Glaess
and Vaishali Patel have joined
Denver's M+O+A Architectural Partnership
as architectural interns.

Brian Fennelly has joined Forest
City Stapleton Inc. as vice president for finance and
accounting.

Jennifer Bigger has joined
IndyMac Bancorp Inc. as business
development manager for IndyMac Bank Home Construction Lending.

Scott Jones, PE, has been named
project engineer at URS Corp. in
Denver, where he will work with the firm's dams group.

Chad Wentz has been promoted
to designer at IA Interior Architects
in Denver.

Peter Van Dusen and Caitlin
"Katie" Barnes have returned to BRSA
after working nearly two years with a residential architecture
firm and is the project manager for the Devil's Thumb Guest
Lodge in Tabernash. Barnes returned as a senior associate
and is involved in the Logan School project at Lowry.

Dawn Horner and Patrick
Casias have joined the Vail office of Monroe
& Newell Engineers Inc.
Horner is office manager and Casias is a CAD technician
whose projects include the Vail Plaza Hotel and Manor Vail.

GE Johnson has added four new
people to its staff in Colorado Springs -
Jerry Jernigan and Will Hopkins,
senior preconstruction services managers; Ryan
Wilson, preconstruction services manager; and Jessica
Schlick, estimator.

RNL has welcomed
four new additions to its Denver office -
Lisa Beckman, human resources director; Ashwin
Bhavikatti, AIA, project architect;
Joye Divine, marketing coordinator; and
Nancy Kristof, marketing and public relations manager.

David Blair and
Douglas Emerick have joined
the Boulder office of JVA Inc.

Peter Cornish has
joined High Country Engineering Inc.
as GIS manager, where he will establish a GIS department fully
integrated with existing engineering and surveying capabilities.

Orlando Rockwell,
a recent graduate from Carnegie Mellon University's School
of Architecture, has joined Newman
Cavender & Doane as an intern architect.

Matthew Houtsma,
Nadia Malik and Jennifer
Duettra have joined Faegre &
Benson LLP.

Douglas Warrington
has joined Quality Electric Inc.
as chief financial officer/controller and Timothy
Jones has joined the company's preconstruction services
group.

Melissa Winburne has
joined the Durrant Group Inc.
in Denver.

Sheri Gann has
joined the Denver office of Schaefer
Engineering Corp. as the firm's area marketing coordinator.

Jeff Goldman has
joined the business development team at
American Civil Constructors Inc. in Denver, where he
will be responsible for creating opportunities for the company's
landscape maintenance divisions.

Tina Turner and
Stephany Taddeo of
Pear Commercial Interiors, a workplace solutions provider,
have earned LEED accreditation from the U.S. Green Building
Council.
