RTD Welcomes New Members to FasTracks CAC/Nolte Names New Colorado Springs Director

The Regional Transportation District welcomed seven new members to the FasTracks Citizens Advisory Committee in April.

Alex Sammoury is executive director of the Longmont Entrepreneurial Network, a technology incubator that helps entrepreneurs create sustainable and profitable businesses.

David Lewis is president of S.A. Miro Inc., a Denver-based engineering company. Lewis is past chair of the DIA Partnership, a member of the Aurora Economic Development Council and currently serves on the Union Station Advisory Committee.

Debra Wilcox is a member of the management team of Bye Energy Inc., a start-up company developing bio-fuel and electric-propulsion systems.

Alice Borodkin is a former member of the Colorado House of Representatives, serving District 9 for eight years. During her tenure in the legislature, Borodkin served on the House Transportation and Energy Committee and was a staunch supporter of mass transit and RTD.

Don Moore is senior planner for the Douglas County Planning Division, responsible for long-range planning, environmental analysis, regulatory compliance and reviewing development proposals.

Ken Burns is a financial adviser for Citi Smith Barney. He recently organized a coalition of communities within Thornton to work with RTD on the planning and environmental studies for the North Metro Corridor.

Niloufar Vakil is a project designer and urban planner for Tryba Architects in Denver, with extensive experience in planning and execution of transit-oriented development projects.


A-1 Chipseal and Rocky Mountain Pavement recently appointed Rick Whitfield as general superintendent, Jeff Gross as senior estimator and Katie Fassbinder as director of business development.

Whitfield’s primary responsibilities as general superintendent will be handling coordination of all asphalt and pavement maintenance products and scheduling of crews.

As senior estimator, Gross will be responsible for market analysis, daily operations of sales staff and maintaining customer relations.

In January, A-1 Chipseal purchased the assets of Rocky Mountain Pavement.


Nolte Associates Inc. has named John Radcliffe as office director of its Colorado Springs operations. Radcliffe is responsible for managing a multi-disciplined staff providing surveying, planning, engineering, construction management and program management solutions for the water, transportation, energy and land development markets.


Chip Caldwell has joined Krische Construction of Longmont as senior estimator. Caldwell’s responsibilities include estimating current and future projects for the company.

Caldwell brings 12 years experience in estimating, budgeting and preconstruction. He earned his bachelor’s degree in municipal administration from Eastern Kentucky University and is working toward his master’s degree in business administration.


Tom Cole has joined Terracon’s Wheat Ridge office as a senior consultant. His role will be to help provide technical, operational and client development leadership support to the geotechnical and CMET practices in Denver and along the Front Range.

Cole is the former president of Signet Testing Labs in Sacramento, a subsidiary of URS.  He brings more than 18 years experience in geotechnical and construction materials engineering and testing and holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from California State University in Fresno.


Jessie Johnson has joined the DLR Group’s Denver office as an associate/architectural designer, after transferring from the firm’s Seattle office. She has worked as a designer, architectural lead and project manager for a variety of clients, with an emphasis on office, mixed-use and hospitality projects.

Johnson has worked on numerous projects for Boeing, including office space, tenant improvements, virtual workplace and atrium and café spaces. She is a graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in architecture.
