CU Law Prof Receives HUD Appointment/Firms Gain LEED APs
Nestor Davidson, associate professor of law at the University of Colorado at Boulder, has accepted an appointment as principal deputy general counsel at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, which works with communities across the country to promote homeownership, affordable rental housing, community development and fair housing.
Davidson previously served as special counsel to the secretary of HUD and practiced affordable housing development and finance law at the firm of Latham & Watkins.
Davidson is the second CU-Boulder law professor to join President Obama’s administration. Last month, Philip J. Weiser was appointed deputy assistant attorney general for international, policy and appellate matters at the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division.
Bob Erickson has become a repair estimator for Englewood-based roofing and waterproofing contractor WeatherSure Systems Inc. Erickson will improve customer satisfaction, cut response times and increase the number of clients utilizing WeatherSure’s Protection + WeatherProofing Management program.
Chad McFadden, senior project manager with Flatirons Surveying of Boulder and Longmont, was recently certified as a Geographic Information Systems Professional.
McFadden is among the fewer than 5,000 individuals nationwide to earn the certification.
Three JHL Constructors Inc. employees recently earned their LEED accreditations from the U.S. Green Building Council: Ben Stellor, project manager; Aimee Clode, project engineer; and Scott Priebe, estimator.
Four Mortenson Construction employees recently earned their LEED accreditations from the U.S. Green Building Council: Craig Goettsch, vice president, preconstruction; Christopher Grundy, senior project manager; David Stone and Jack Christiansen, integrated construction managers.
John Stevens, Webb Martin, Bill McLaughlin and Jeff Patton of Shaw Construction have earned LEED accreditation.
Dr. Fort F. Felker has been named director of the National Wind Technology Center at the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden. Felker, a co-founder of Winglet Technology LLC, and former director of engineering analysis and testing at Kenetech Windpower, began his new position May 18.
Felker succeeds Dr. Robert Thresher, who was appointed an NREL Research Fellow in 2008, and Dr. Michael Robinson, who has been the acting center director for the past year.
