track, classrooms, craft rooms, dance/aerobic facilities and office/conference
rooms.

rooms.

5. Rude Recreation Center

The state-of-the-art Rude Recreation Center replaces an outdated facility
on the same inner-city site. Rude ('Rudy') will offer recreation facilities
and youth programs to an estimated 3,500 children and 1,700 adults annually.
Located on a prominent site near the new high-profile football stadium,
this 42,000-sq-ft facility makes a strong architectural statement by its
sweeping curves and its well-considered use of multiple materials including
glass block, aluminum curtain wall, brick and concrete. Inside, Rude houses
a lap and leisure pool, gymnasium, weight room, arts and crafts room,
lockers, a full kitchen and multi-use spaces.
